On Saturday 2nd December, three of our IKIC (I Know I Can) teams were involved in a selling event at Market Parade in Barnsley. These were Terrific Tie-Dye, Dreamy Delights and Stress Busters. They were selling alongside other IKIC teams and experienced market traders. Each team has been busy developing their business idea over the last few weeks, and they produced a range of products which they should be extremely proud of.
They were up for an early start (8:30am)! As soon as they arrived, the teams began busily organising and presenting their stalls. They had worked on posters, price lists and unique ways to present and customise their products. A full day of selling to the public then began with the last (tired) group leaving at around 4pm. Throughout the day, the children showed amazing energy, enthusiasm and demonstrated fantastic behaviour. It was an opportunity for the groups to evaluate their progress so far and recognise where they may take their business in the future.
We would like to thank the IKIC staff for organising the event and all of the parents that supported during the day, making it possible for the children to take part. The day was a massive success with every team making huge profits and some even selling out completely! It was heart-warming to hear that each of the three teams have decided to give 50% of their profits to a charity of their choice. Miss Roantree and Miss Turner could not be more proud of their achievements so far – keep up the amazing work.
Watch out for further opportunities to buy the amazing products on offer.
