The National Space Centre

Yesterday, Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic day at The National Space Centre in Leicester. The children were eager to begin their exploration after the long coach journey. We explored the rocket tower and many of the exhibitions including ‘Into Space’, ‘The universe’ and ‘Our solar system’ to name but a few. As well as this, the children were able to record their own space weather report following an auto-cue in the weather pod, and try to navigate a laser using a hover chair. One of the highlights of the day for many, was when we had the opportunity to explore the night sky and planets in our solar system during a showing in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium.

What was you child’s best bit? Maybe the space toilet, which many were eager to discover more about! We cannot wait to hear about everything the children learned and their best bits in the coming weeks as we explore our space topic further.
